Meet Our Volunteers!

PATH would like to take a moment to remind you that we would cease to exist without the help of our fabulous volunteers!  Together, they contain a wealth of knowledge on a plethora of different topics, and they are ready to use that knowledge to help you!  So please, take a second and get to know a few of them.  Take a look at some of their amazing side projects.  See how they give back to the community.

Steve Mizel

Over 40+ years media, advertising and direct marketing experience. I first moved to Charleston in the early 1980’s.  I’m a start-up entrepreneur having initiated 6 Charleston businesses. I sold 4 of them which continue operating today.

I’m semi-retired however I still have the entrepreneurial spirit. So I volunteer Mentor at SCORE to help aspiring entrepreneurs.

My current company is SLM Consulting & Marketing (SLMconsulting at att dot net).  I’m a print broker that passes on my low costs to beat other’s quotes on a wide variety of full color print products.

I volunteer at PATH because I’m pretty good at figuring out computer problems or know how to seek answers.

I also assist as needed part-time in the Patriots Point Marketing & Sales department because I enjoy contributing my marketing skills.

I like to say I got to Charleston as soon as I could.

 James Moffitt

I live in West Ashley with my wife Katy and two teenaged children. Katy and I have been married for the last 20 years and have lived in the Lowcountry of SC for the last 10 years. Our children attend West Ashley High School and they keep us very busy. I am an I.T. professional with 20+ years of experience and currently work as the I.T. Manager for ResortQuest and manage technology for our three locations at Kiawah, Isle of Palms and Freshfield village. I am an early adopter of technology and love living on the bleeding edge. I am excited for the opportunity to give back to the community through volunteer work through PATH. I attend Trident Technical College and am pursuing a 2 year degree as a Telecommunications Systems Manager. I like to use Facebook, Twitter and Brightkite to connect with other folks in the Lowcountry who use these social media tools online and then get together with them at different types of social meet ups. I love to write about our faith in Christ, technology and current events. You can find us online at http://www.lightourworld.com

Miro Scarfiotti

Miro received his first computer at the age of five, and he hasn’t looked back since! He lives and breathes computer software, programming languages, server technologies and the like, yet is—oddly enough—patient, humanistic and approachable. Born in Siena Italy, Miro’s bilingual skills and love of people, served him well as a corporate trainer and translator. He now employs his strengths developing the new “humanistic web,” with the goal of achieving the perfect user experience.
