Wholly Cow LogoWholly Cow!  We have so many great volunteers and can’t thank them enough for all their hard work.  Fortunately our friends at Wholly  Cow are helping us to do that with an extremely generous donation of  ice cream coupons for our volunteers!  We are so glad to recognize Wholly Cow Ice Cream as one of our community partners and can’t wait to hand out the coupons at our next volunteer gathering.

With creative flavors ranging from Killa Vanilla to Southern Praline, and from Chocolate Fetish to Rainbow Row Sherbet – and yummy add-ins that are hand-stirred as well as pureed into the base of the ice cream – we hope you’ll consider them the next time you go out for ice cream.  And while you’re there, say thanks for supporting us!

Wholly Cow Ice Cream is a locally-owned business that has been serving the Charleston, SC area with its homemade ice cream for over 27 years.  Each gallon of ice cream is made with the freshest ingredients and without rBGH (recombinant bovine growth hormone) or other unnatural additives or preservatives. Their newest scoop shop is located at 159 Church Street, Charleston and not only serves delicious ice cream but also breakfast, lunch and a variety of coffee drinks.  Wholly Cow also has a shop located in the Citadel Mall on Sam Rittenberg Blvd.  Be sure to visit Wholly Cow at one of their two local locations and taste the difference! (Become a follower on Twitter and receive a free scoop of ice cream when you purchase a single scoop!)

As most of you know, PATH started out of Coastal Community Foundation in early 2010.  Michael Carnell and I recognized the tech needs of Tina Arnoldinonprofits, knew we had generous geeks in the community, and PATH became our way of connecting the two.  Early 2011 is when Google provided funding and we hired a part-time coordinator (Lindsey) to work out of the foundation offices.

For 2012, Lindsey and Michael will take over the daily operations of PATH and I am stepping aside.  Coastal Community Foundation will still be involved through this year, but only as the holder of any funding provided.

I’m working on some new projects which you will hopefully hear more about soon.   You can still reach me (tina@coastalcommunityfoundation.org) and we’ll continue to send out foundation news in our e-newsletter and on our Facebook page.  I want to thank everyone for their support these last two years, together we accomplished more than I thought possible…thanks to you.

I had the opportunity to review Tammi DeVilleChanging the world on a Tuesday night’s book, “Changing the World on a Tuesday Night“.  I love the overall design of it; it offers a great first impression with the use of color and images.  She also includes simple, but powerful quotes about the importance of being involved in our communities.

Throughout the book,  DeVille presents profiles of volunteers for different types of organizations around the country.  The volunteers share stories about their reasons for volunteering and why they continue to do it.

Is your computer protected?  The answer is ‘no’ if your antivirus program is no longer active with current virus definition files.  Trojans, viruses, spyware, malware, and hijackers are all problematic and a threat to your unprotected computer.  They eat up available resources on an infected machine and may try to take control of your computer.

Many PATH volunteers have generously donated their time to present classroom workshops and webinars in Charleston County.  Moving forward, PATH would like to extend its classroom workshop offerings to nonprofits in Berkeley and Dorchester Counties.  If you have an area of technical expertise that you would like to share with nonprofits in these areas, please contact Vicki McGurk at 843-723-3635 or Vicki@palmettotechnologyhub.org to sign up.

Thank you!
